The day was a complete success with only two pieces remaining from the collection! People came from surrounding towns and villages as well as from further afield! One couple had even taken the train from Sheffield to York and then the bus out to Pocklington especially to join us! One lady and her Mum even travelled from Epsom in Surrey and decided to make a weekend of it, staying locally and exploring the area :)
Peter Smiths collectibility is understandable as these highly appealing characters never fail to raise a smile. It was a fab day and Peters story-telling was highly entertaining!
The original 'Solar Polar Bear' had been bought ahead of the day by a gentleman especially as a surprise for his wife... she was stood admiring it whilst we chatted and I asked her would she like to take it home? She replied that she would but wasn't he sold? Imagine her surprise when I said it was indeed sold - to her!
A couple from Newcastle came down especially to meet Peter after having bought one of his original pieces, they were delighted to leave with two Lost Impossimals and couldn't wait to get them home!
Peter and Jayne even went home with their own piece of art as they were presented with a picture of an Impossimals drawn by 5year old Sam Hamilton from York.
The last two pieces are still on show along with a wide selection of other work and interest continues as the tour picks up momentum...
